When listening to Hard White, and its
entourage of machine-gun lyricists, one thought comes to
mind- “There must be something in the water in Far
Rockaway.” Father-Rule’s five man crew (consisting
of Un Pacino, Boogz Boogetz, H. Brando, Scott Caine, and
Mumbles) is the first official clique to emerge out of this
oft-overlooked NY borough. They are at the forefront of a
movement that is only now being universally recognized, and
is reflected by their sell-out street mixtapes, endless praise
on internet hip-hop sites, and established relationships
with artists such as Papoose, Liveson, Stack Bundles, Mobb
Deep, Big Twins and many others.
Un Pacino, the group’s
organizer and leader, has been busy making appearances throughout
the industry and in a recent interview when asked about who
was on the come-up, DJ Diggz pushed, “Un Pacino from
Far Rockaway is a savage.” Their overall knack for
utilizing slang, complex rhyme schemes, and original references,
places them in a league of their own in the emerging modern
hip-hop sound. Mixing this witticism with hard-boiled hood
sagas, Hard White is strangely palatable for the college
kids and the streets alike.
Unofficially being touted as the next hiphop crew (a la WuTang
or
Dipset) because of their endless collective of talented and
unique
MC's, the self-proclaimed "Hard White Boyz" are
moving in on the game
with a serious vengeance... This year, assorted Hdub
mixtapes will hit
the lobbies of project buildings across America and the Hard
White
full-length LP is in production now... |
